1. About this website
HowsMyFishDoing.com provides educational freshwater aquarium checkers and care guides. This policy explains the information used when you visit our website and how advertising choices work.
2. Aquarium calculator inputs
The tank calculator processes the species, tank sizes and water measurements you enter in your browser. The current website does not require an account or ask for your name to use its tools. We do not deliberately transmit your aquarium entries to a dedicated account database. Requests for public species data and other site assets are handled by our hosting provider.
3. Technical information and hosting
Our website is served through Cloudflare. When you visit, network and security services may process technical details such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, timestamps, and approximate location derived from an IP address. This supports delivery, security, troubleshooting and aggregate traffic measurement. Cloudflare's own privacy practices may also apply.
4. Google AdSense and third-party advertising
We use or plan to use Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-4804201483359312). If you allow optional advertising cookies, Google advertising code may load. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on earlier visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this website and/or other websites on the Internet.
Depending on ad settings and applicable rules, ads may be personalized. You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You may also learn about some third-party advertising opt-outs at YourAdChoices. Google's advertising technologies information explains more.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We save your optional-cookie choice in your browser's local storage, under a preference key. This lets us remember whether you accepted or rejected optional Google advertising code. If you reject optional cookies, the site does not intentionally load the Google AdSense script on future page loads unless you later change your choice. Third-party providers may set cookies when their services are activated. See our Cookie Policy for details and settings.
6. Sharing and retention
We do not intentionally sell aquarium measurements you type into the calculator. Cloudflare and Google may handle technical or advertising data as described above, under their own retention policies. Your saved cookie preference stays in your browser until you clear site data or change it in Cookie settings.
7. Your choices
You may reject optional advertising cookies using our cookie notice and reopen at any time. Changing your mind from acceptance to rejection reloads the page to stop new AdSense requests from that page. Previously created third-party cookies may still need to be managed through your browser's settings. Your browser may also offer tracking protection controls.
8. Children
This is a general aquarium information website and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal details through a user account or form.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy if the website, advertising tools or legal requirements change. The update date appears at the top. For privacy questions or data requests, please use [email protected].
